Role summary

The Inventory & Finance Officer keeps GoCaby's numbers tight and its assets accountable. You bridge inventory control and financial discipline — tracking stock and assets, reconciling records, managing invoices and expenses, and producing clear, decision-ready financial reports as the business scales. This role demands accuracy, integrity, and the discipline to keep records clean in a fast-moving environment.

Key responsibilities

  1. Track and manage inventory and company assets (spare parts, equipment, fleet-related stock); maintain accurate records and stock levels.
  2. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical counts against system records; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  3. Manage accounts payable and receivable: process invoices, verify against purchase orders, and track payments.
  4. Record and monitor daily expenses; flag anomalies and enforce budget discipline.
  5. Perform monthly reconciliations (cash, bank, inventory) and resolve variances.
  6. Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate, timely data.
  7. Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for leadership, including spend, burn, and inventory summaries.
  8. Maintain proper documentation and controls to support audits and reduce fraud/leakage risk.
  9. Liaise with vendors and internal teams on procurement, payments, and stock replenishment.

Requirements

  1. 2+ years in finance, accounting, inventory, or a combined role.
  2. Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ICAN/ACCA in view is a plus).
  3. Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills and comfort with accounting or ERP software (ERPNext experience is a strong advantage).
  4. High accuracy with numbers and strong attention to detail.
  5. Integrity and discipline in record-keeping and handling company funds.

Nice to have

  1. Experience with ERPNext or similar ERP inventory/accounting modules.
  2. Background in logistics, e-commerce, or a startup finance function.

Success metrics (first 6 months)

Reconciliation accuracy and timeliness, inventory variance rate, on-time reporting, invoice/payment turnaround, and audit-readiness of records.
